Perhaps you have carried an idea for years: the head of a dog you once walked beside, a crest passed down through your family, a creature from a story that stayed with you. Or perhaps you simply want a stick that no other hand will ever hold. Whatever the inspiration, our bespoke service turns it into timber and metal.
Tell us your idea and our artisans will work to make it a reality. Every commission is a true one of one: designed with you, made for you, and never repeated.
What You Can Commission
- Handle: a carved animal, a portrait grip, a family crest, or a classic Derby, knob or crook made your way
- Material: beech, chestnut and other fine hardwoods, or metal alloy work in silver, gold and bronze tones
- Finish: natural, stained, lacquered or two-tone, with collars, engraving and detailing to suit
- Length: cut to your height for a comfortable, upright walk
How a Commission Works
- The consultation. Message us to request your free consultation. We talk through your idea, the design and the materials, with no payment taken and no obligation.
- The artisan. We match your design to the right craftsman for the work, whether that calls for hand carving, metalwork or both.
- The deposit. Once the design and price are agreed, a deposit secures your commission and work begins.
- The making. Your cane is crafted and then held to even stricter quality control than our standard collection, because a one of one has no second chance.
- The unveiling. When your stick is complete, you pay the balance and we deliver it to your door.
Lead times run from 1 month to 9 months once designs are agreed, depending on the uniqueness and complexity of the piece. A commission is not rushed, and yours will be worth the wait.
